Mr. William H. Witt, 74, of Thorntown, passed away September 29, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Bill was born on November 11, 1942, in Lebanon, the son of Edward Earl and Eliza (Whiteman) Witt. He married Barbara Yount on October 6, 1967. She survives.

Bill graduated from Granville Wells and then served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a machinist for Herf Jones and Allison Transmission. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and was a big NASCAR fan and loved watching the races.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Witt of Thorntown; his sons Timothy Edward (Sadie Joyner) Witt of Lebanon and Bryan (Lisa Howard) Witt of Whitestown; his daughter Crystal (Mike) Inman of Sheridan; his brother Keith Witt of Advance; and his grandchildren Israel Witt and Maggie Inman.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, October 4, 2017 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Larry Truitt officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Bill will be laid to rest at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax.
