Obituary

Mr. Wilbur Doke, 72, of Lebanon, passed away May 26, 2018, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Wilbur was born Aug. 10, 1945 in Clarks Hill, IN, a son of the late Everett L. and Sarah (Platt) Doke. He was married to Bonnie Rouse on Oct. 14, 1987. She survives.

Wilbur worked in security at Pinkerton and the Holiday Inn in Lebanon. Wilbur also worked for  Richard Bennett Furniture store for many years. His interests included John Deere Tractors and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Rosie Doke of Utah; a grandson, Matthew Doke and great-grandson Elijah Wilbur James Doke; brothers: James (Sandy) Doke of Lebanon, Wayne (Shirley) Doke of Clarks Hill, Everett (Ilsa) Doke Jr. of Dayton, IN; sisters: Ethel Riggle and Elizabeth Barker of Frankfort and Patty (Robert) Blacker of Colfax.   Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Wilbur Doke Jr., a sister Sarah Elizabeth
"Betty" Watkins, a brother William "Bill" Doke and brother-in-laws: Marion Riggle, Joe Barker, and Basil Watkins.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, May 31, 2018 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Wilbur will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Clarks Hill. You are invited to visit the website www.strawmyerdrury.com where you may sign his online register and leave a personal message. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes, Kidney Foundation or Heart Association.
