Verna Kay (LeGalley) Newton, 78, of Lebanon, passed to a better world on June 17, 2020.

Verna was born on March 31, 1942, in Indianapolis to Vernon and Flora LeGalley. She graduated from Whitestown High School in 1959 and was married to Everette (E.J.) Newton the same year.

Verna worked at Eli Lilly for thirty-two years before her retirement in 2002. She was a faithful member of the Jamestown Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters. Survivors include son, Mark (Rita) Newton, son, Darrin, and granddaughters, Katelyn (David) Mathis and Whitney (Kevin) Colvin.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 5:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Per request of the family, social distancing will be observed and masks are optional.
