Mrs. Tina Sue "Susie" Kirby, 66, of Lebanon, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. Susie was born May 31, 1956, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose (Moore) Garrell. She married David Harold Kirby on Apr. 25, 1975. He survives.

Susie attended Lebanon High School. Her family was the most important part of her life, and she was the matriarch of the family, always keeping them together. Susie loved decorating and shopping, along with designing flowers. She also loved spending time with her girls, going out to dinner, traveling, listening to music, and dancing. She was an excellent cook.

Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, David Kirby of Lebanon; daughters, Michelle (Josh) Williams of Thorntown, Melissa Nelson (Ryan Ottinger) of Lebanon, Lisa (Keith) Smith of Berea, KY, Tammy (Jeff) Swafford of Lebanon, and Angela Halford of Lebanon; sisters, Lila Garrell of TN, Rena Parker of FL, and Diana (Glenn) Northcott of Lebanon; grandchildren, Brandy Kirby, Brandon Clevenger, Cortney Jones, Lindsey Mofford, Christopher Halford, Sydney Henderson, Jackson Williams, Cooper Williams, Ethan Williams, Cade Nelson, Reid Nelson, Sloan Nelson, Kobe Ottinger, and Kylie Ottinger; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Susie was preceded in death by her son, David H. Kirby, II; grandson, Jeffrey Swafford; and son-in-law, T.J. Nelson.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Feb. 1, for visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
