Mrs. Ruth Anna Bogan, 89, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Ruth was born Apr. 7, 1932, in Kirklin, a daughter of the late Harold and Irene (Sharp) Underwood. She married M. Ragene Bogan on Feb. 16, 1951. He preceded her in death.

Ruth graduated from Kirklin High School with the class of 1950. She worked for P.R. Mallory Company for seven years and Federal Mogul for 18 years. Ruth enjoyed knitting and crochet, along with travelling and reading. She loved drinking coffee every morning with her friends at the local coffee shop. Ruth was a faithful member of the Mechanicsburg Christian Church. She also loved doing activities with the Boone County Senior Citizens club.

Survivors include her children, David (Elaine) Bogan of Wentzville, MO and Sheryl (David) Brown of Georgetown, IN; daughter-in-law, Trish Bogan of Kirklin; grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Meek, Geoffrey (Amanda) Bogan, Abigail Ragene Bogan, Adam (Katie) Brown, and Phillip Brown; great grandchildren, Eisley, Reznor, and Katie; sister, Betty Corpron of WA; and sisters-in-law, Pat Deis and Lynn Bogan. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bogan; brother, Robert Underwood; sister, Mary Wolfe; and brothers-in-law, Stanley Bogan and Doug Corpron.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, Oct. 28, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Ramey officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Ruth will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Mechanicsburg Christian Church, 650 W Horton Road, Kirklin, IN 46050.
