Robert S. "Bob" Pollock, 68, of Lebanon, Indiana, beloved husband, father and Papaw, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on September 28, 1949 in Indianapolis to Bernard S. Pollock and Dorothy M. (Pace) Pollock.


Bob graduated from Lebanon High School in 1967 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1969 aboard the U.S.S. Oglethorpe and the U.S.S. Donner (stationed in Key West, FL). He was honorably discharged. He married Joy (Solomon) Pollock on April 6, 1974. They lovingly welcomed their son Jarod on August 21, 1975 and daughter Jocelyn on May 24, 1977. Bob served as service advisor for McComb Window and Door for 22 years, retiring in 2008.


Many who loved him knew him as "Po". He was known for his determined attitude, his love of a good card game, and his absolute dedication to coaching youth sports. Bob coached youth basketball, baseball and football for many years and proudly displayed his competitive nature at every game. Those who were coached by him will never forget him. Most certainly, though, Bob was known for his unfailing love for his family whom he treasured dearly. His most important job was that of Papaw to his four grandchildren, Ella, Eli, Jay and Jillian. He spent many of his hours on earth rocking, holding, tickling, and teasing them. He loved to educate them about the important things in life, and attended their activities without fail. He will be sorely missed by them, as well as his entire family and circle of friends.


He is survived by his wife, Joy (Solomon) Pollock of Lebanon, IN; a son, Jarod (Katie) Pollock of Lebanon, IN; a daughter, Jocelyn (Neil) Taylor, of Lebanon, IN; four grandchildren Ella and Eli Taylor, and Jay and Jillian Pollock; a step-sister, Tammy Schlegel, as well as his many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a step-mother, Mary Pollock.


Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and the funeral service will be Thursday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Powell officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Bob will be laid to rest at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon with the Rev.
