Robert E. Hill, 80, of Advance, died Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Roudebush Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born November 17, 1943 in Scotland, Indiana, the son of Robert L. and Doris (Lloyd) Hill. Bob served his country in the United States Army after graduating from the Lebanon High School. He worked as a millwright at Allison Motors for forty years having retired in 1996.

His memberships included Past Commander of the American Legion Post #201 in Advance, Christian Motorcycle Association and the Mechanicsburg Masonic Lodge #392 F.&A.M. and the Trinity Chapel in Thorntown.

On November 8, 1964 he married JoAnn Horton and together they had four children, Robert Alan Hill of Lebanon, Randal (Melinda) Hill of Colfax, Richard Hill of Pittsboro and Rodney Hill of Indianapolis; brother T. David (Sheila) Hill of Crawfordsville; grandson, Robert D. Hill of Lebanon; niece, Dawn (Bob) Tidd of Lebanon and nephew, T. David Hill, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Faith, Hunter and Haleigh Hill of New Castle, Indiana; uncle, Rev. Sam (Pat) Hill of Southern Indiana; and aunt, Mary Wright of Linton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Justin A. Hill.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, August 24 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. with K.C. Row officiating in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
