Obituary

Mr. Richard "Dick" W. Camp, 86, of Lebanon, passed away Dec. 13, 2017, at Witham Hospital.


Dick was born Aug. 3, 1931 in Frankfort, IN, a son of the late William P. Camp and Katherine G. (Rutan) Camp Arrick. He was first married to Barbara Small in 1952. She survives. He was then married to Jo Ann Riddle on Nov. 6, 1988. She survives.

Dick lived in Frankfort the first 13 years of his life and then his family moved to Indianapolis where he graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1949. He graduated with a B.S. in Management from Indiana University in 1953 and then served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. from Sept. of 1953 until July of 1955.

In 1955, Dick went to work for Federal Paperboard Co. for 16 years and then spent 24 years at Indianapolis Paper Container as Vice President of sales where he retired in 1995. He was a member of Elks Lodge #635, Lebanon Eagles, Ulen Country Club and a lifetime member of the I.U. Foundation.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann, children; Cynthia Hall of Yukon, OK, Brad (Terri) Camp of North Manchester, IN, Michael (Patricia) Camp and Jeffry Camp both of Indianapolis; step-children: Craig (Pam) Howe of Zionsville, Stephanie Hodges of Zionsville and Liz (Matt) Drury of Lebanon; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law Jim (Marilyn) Riddle of Lebanon and the mother of his children, Barbara (Small) Ludwig of Indianapolis.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Dick will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery in Lebanon. You are invited to visit the website www.strawmyerdrury.com where you may sign his online register and leave a personal message.
