Mr. Raymond "Karl" Miller, 85, of Lebanon, passed away Nov. 27, 2018 at Homewood Health Campus.
Karl was born Apr. 16, 1933 in Lebanon, a son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Wells) Miller. He married Alyce Thrasher on May 3, 1953. She survives.
Karl was a lifelong resident of Boone County and a 1951 graduate of Dover High School. He served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army from 1953-55. Karl was a member of Pleasant View Church, the Thorntown Kiwanis Club, Boone Co. Antique Tractor Club, and Blue Bird Society.
Survivors include his wife, Alyce, a son, Kyle (Kim) Milller, a daughter, Kristyn (Steve) Pittman and daughter-in-law René Miller, all of Thorntown; grandchildren: Jessica (Jason) Adams of Abilene, TX, Kedrick (Melissa) Miller, Kent (Katie) Miller, John (Bailey) Padgett, and Kathleen Miller, allof Thorntown, Kasey (Jared) Brown of St. Joseph, MO, and Laura Beth Padgett of Jamestown; great grandchildren: Parker, Logan, Davis and Caroline Miller, Andi and Walker Padgett, all of Thorntown, Jackson Brown of St. Joseph, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews; sister Katy Taylor of Noblesville and sister in laws; Joyce (Bob) Coomes of Kentucky and Nancy Lewis of Florida. In addition to his parents, Karl was preceded in death by a son, Kevyn Miller.
Family and friends will gather Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 for visitation at Pleasant View Church from 4-8 p.m. and the funeral service will be Saturday, Dec.1 at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Tom Evans officiating. Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon is handling the arrangements. Karl will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
