Obituary

Mrs. Phyllis Jean Rose, 87, of Lebanon, passed away Jan. 13, 2019 at Homewood Health Campus.

Phyllis was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Marie (Isenhower) Shockley. She was married to Jackie Patt Rose. He preceded her in death.

Phyllis was retired from the IRS and had been the secretary of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Phyllis attended the Lebanon Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed gem hunting in North Carolina, knitting, fishing and reading the Bible. She was known as "Grandma Phyl" to her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Marcia Rose, Roger (Sue) Rose, and Randy (Tammy) Rose, all of Lebanon; grandchildren: Alex Rose, Abigail (Jeff) McNew, Crystal  (Amy Fortin) Rose, and Samantha Rose; great-grandchildren: Rylan Rose, Addison Stanley, Mackson McNew and Elsie Mae McNew; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son; a brother, Lawrence Shockley Jr.; a sister, Helen Wilhoite; a nephew, Dale Wilhoite; and great nephew, Jake Shockley.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, for visitation from 4-8 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N.
