Peggy Jane Brickey, 82, of ­­­­­­Thorntown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family ­­­­­June 5, 2024, at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, In.

Peggy was born in Thorntown, Indiana, a daughter of the late Omer "Poss" and Irene (Sullivan) Fisher.

She graduated from Thorntown High School in 1961 and went on to work at the Indiana State House in records, Thorntown Grain Elevator as office manager, Indiana Mills, and Kirkland's.

Peggy was a life time member of Thorntown Christian Church. She was a 25-year member of Eastern Star, involved in Alpha Omega Sorority and ran for Mrs. Boone County. Peggy enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting. She also enjoyed her time at Raccoon Lake with family and friends, but most of all, she loved being a grandmother.

Survivors include son, Rob (Jamey) Hickson of Kirklin; daughter, Raschel "Angie" Bascom of Thorntown; sisters, Sue Ann Shaw (A.D.)  of Florida and Patty Lou Williams of Thorntown; grandchildren, Ryan Andrew Hickson, Kayla Noel (Will) Ritter and Audianna "Addy" Nichol Bascom; great grandchildren, Owen Robert Ritter and Weston William Ritter and three step grandchildren and family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Robert "Bob" Hickson; brothers, Victor Eugene Fisher, Billy Monroe Fisher and Bobby Joe Fisher and a step grandson, Jonathan Ryan.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, June 16, 2024 for visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held, Monday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Peggy will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown, In.
