Roy Wade Reeder

Devoted Husband, Father, and Pastor

Pastor Roy Wade Reeder, 81, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, at Wesley Manor in Frankfort.

Roy was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Oakdale, TN, a son of the late John and Edith (Wylie) Reeder. He married Janice Craddock on Sep. 6, 1969. She survives.

From 1960 to 1963, Roy was enlisted in the United States Army and spent some time serving in the Korean War. Roy attended Tennessee Temple University and Indiana Baptist College, receiving his pastoral degree and honorary Doctor of Divinity. He was then called by Mts. Runn Baptist Church in 1971 to fulfill the position of senior pastor, where he remained and served faithfully for 36 years. During that time, he also served as Vice President of the Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp. Roy loved to fish and water ski and spent much of his leisure time at Kentucky Lake with close friends and family. He cherished time with his beloved wife and children, as well as time with his church family. He spent many hours reading and studying the Word of God and maintained a strong work ethic throughout his life.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Janice Reeder, children, Lesly (Kenny) Hines, Emily (Jeremy) Robbins, and Zachary (Stephanie) Reeder, and grandchildren, Brady, Jordan, Kameron, Allison, Erika, Harrison, Vivian, Sullivan, and grandbaby Reeder.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his siblings, Delcy Jeanette Reeder, Roger Reeder, Robbie Fields, Reba Ellis, Rella Chestnut, and Ronald Reeder.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, Nov. 13, for visitation from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Mts. Runn Baptist Church, 250 S. 775 E., Zionsville, IN 46077. A funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the Mts. Runn Baptist Church. Military Rites will follow at the Mts. Runn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Mts. Runn Baptist Church.
