Obituary

Mrs. Nancy P. Guernsey, 77, of Lebanon, passed away Oct. 3, 2018.

Nancy was born Mar. 8, 1941 in Clinton County, IN, a daughter to the late Ora and Helen (Reagan) Goodnight.  She was lovingly married for 57 years to Robert Guernsey. They were married on Mar. 27, 1961 at the Jamestown United Methodist Church.

Nancy was a 1959 Wells graduate. She attended Butler University on a music scholarship and played an active roll in the family farm business.  Nancy was involved in several organizations including Purdue Extension, 4-H participant and supporter, past State Chair of the Ag Research Extension, Farm Bureau Board representing the township and Vice Precinct Committee Harrison Township. Her commitments to church included, youth leadership, supporting the Appalachia Service Project which helped Home Repair Missions, choir director and organist, and secretary of most committees.

Survivors include her husband, Bob and son, Bruce (Kelli) Guernsey of Jamestown; grandsons Cody (Kelsie) Guernsey and Cameron Guernsey and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Rose Guernsey.   In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by brothers, Ora Goodnight Jr., Rex Goodnight, and Joe Goodnight.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 for visitation from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Nancy will be laid to rest at Old Union Cemetery in Jamestown.
