Michael Wayne Zimmerman, passed away December 4, 2018, at his residence in Tampa, Florida.

Michael was born on October 28, 1966, to William "Bill" Wayne Zimmerman and Dixie Lee (Chanley) Zimmerman of Lebanon, both whom survive. He is also survived by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Carney of Tampa, FL; his children from his first marriage, son, Christian Michael Zimmerman (wife, Molly), daughter Shannon Kay Chandler (husband, Austin), and son Ethan David Zimmerman; step- children, Caroline and Will Clark; brother, Jeffery Allan Zimmerman (wife, Barbara); nieces, Bailee Marie Zimmerman and Brenna Jo Zimmerman; and nephew, Kye Jeffery Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by sister, Amy Elizabeth and brother Stephen Lee; grandparents, Harold and Betty Zimmerman and Ed and Marian Chanley.

Many loved Michael for his warm and generous heart. He always greeted everyone with their "special" name and a giant hug. Michael had many wonderful qualities but one of the best was always lending a helping hand, ear and heart to anyone who needed him. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, dancing, attending sporting events, and loving of the Lord.

He graduated from Purdue University in 1989 with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology and continued in the electrical field his entire career.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, December 9, 2018, for visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N.
