Mrs. Loretta Thacker, 81, of Lebanon, passed away Feb. 8, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Loretta was born Sept. 16, 1938, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Elmer and Zela (Merrill) Davis. She was married to Otis Thacker. He survives.
Loretta was a 1957 graduate of Lebanon High School and very active with the alumni group. After high school, Loretta worked for Wabash Life Insurance. In 1962, she went to work for the McCutchan family and was the office manager for Pennell-Metzger-Coomes Lumber, also known as the Lumber Center, retiring in 2004 after 42 years of service. Loretta then became the secretary for Molly Riggs at the Center Twp. Trustee office. Loretta was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Otis; a son, Mike Thacker; a sister, Kathy (Lawrence) Hartsock of Brownsburg and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Davis, and sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Byron Neese.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020 for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 858 W. 250 N., Lebanon, IN 46052 with Pastor Merv McNair officiating. Loretta will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
