Mr. Kevin Eugene Smith, 56, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Kevin was born February 13, 1970, in Lafayette, a son of Carol Smith and the late L. Eugene Smith.
He attended Lebanon High School and, in his younger years, helped his father on the family farm. He later worked in the trucking industry. A country boy at heart, Kevin enjoyed mudding and four-wheeling. He was a naturally mechanical person who could fix just about anything, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Above all, Kevin’s family was the most important part of his life. He was incredibly proud of his children and cherished the time he spent with them and his grandchildren. His willingness to help others, his practical skills, and his love for his family will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Carol Smith; children, Jeffrey Eugene (Brittany) Smith, Jessie (Chris) Staton, and Josie (Logan) Rose; brother, Jerry E. (Kristine) Smith; sisters, Mandy (Mike) Kerr and Rebecca (John) Wick; seven grandchildren, Elliott and Bennett Smith, Eleanor and Angela Staton, and Lakely, Londyn, and Layla Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Kevin’s memory may be made to the Humane Society for Boone County, 5366 S. Indianapolis Road, Whitestown, IN 46075.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, October 17, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Kevin will be laid to rest at Hutton Cemetery in Boone County.
