Mr. John "Alex" Brown, 50, of Lebanon and formerly from Carmel, passed away Aug. 15, 2017, at his residence.

Alex was born on Mar. 20, 1967 in Tipton, IN, the son of John (Nancy) Brown of Kokomo and Carolyn Brown of Carmel. He was married to Beth Petty Brown. She survives.

Alex was a graduate of Northridge High School in Middlebury, IN. He attended I.U. and was self-employed. Alex was an avid sports fan of basketball, football, baseball and fishing. Whatever he approached in life he did it with great zeal. He was a great family man and always there for his children and family.

Survivors include his wife Beth, his parents and children, Tyler Brown and Jordan Brown of Lebanon, and Jeffery Petty of Crawfordsville; a brother Max Brown of Carmel, a sister Michelle Espinoza of Noblesville; maternal grandparents Max H. (Ruth) Basey of Atlanta, IN, and mother-in-law Patricia Schnarr of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews. Alex was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John (Marie) Brown.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 for visitation from 12 p.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rex Dunning officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N.
