Joan Marie Criswell, 71, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Joan was born Mar. 28, 1950, in Oldenburg, IN, a daughter of the late Buford and Elma (Suttman) Dramann. She married Dick Melvin Criswell, II on Jul. 26, 1968. He preceded her in death Nov. 22, 2010.

Joan graduated from Batesville High School. She worked as a customer service representative for Indianapolis Power and Light for 28 years, and later worked for Pearson Education. Joan truly loved people and talking. She enjoyed volunteering at Witham Memorial Hospital. She also loved her dogs and furbabies.

Survivors include her sons, Dick M. Criswell, III and David J. (Christy) Criswell, both of Lebanon; brothers, William "Bill" (Martha) Dramann and James (Karen) Dramann; furbabies, Yoda and Chewy; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Frances.

Family and friends will gather Monday, Nov. 15, for visitation from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 9:30 a.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Boone County.
