Mr. Jeffrey Allen Lietz, 59, of Advance, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, after fighting for the last two months of his life.
Jeff was born Dec. 30, 1962, in Edgerton, WI, a son of Wendell and Nancy (Nelson) Lietz. He married Melanie (Wartilko) on Mar. 4, 1989. She survives.
Jeff received his associate's degree from Blackhawk Tech, and worked for United Airlines as a mechanic. His last job was with Beckman Coulter building centrifuges. Anything he took apart, he was always able to put back together. Jeff also loved puzzles; the more pieces, the better! He was a faithful member of the Dover Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie Lietz of Advance; parents, Wendell and Nancy Lietz of Edgerton, WI; sons, Alexander James Lietz and Lucas Montgomery (Abigail) Lietz, both of Lebanon; step-daughter, Megan (David) White of Beech Grove; brother, John (Debbie) Lietz of Janesville, WI; sister, Wendi (Bid) Gunn of Edgerton, WI; and a great aunt, along with several aunts and uncles, and two nephews.
Family and friends will gather Friday, Feb. 18, for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Shawn Tulley officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Jeff will be laid to rest at Cooksville Cemetery in Cooksville, Wisconsin on Saturday, Feb. 19.
