Obituary

Jeff Richardson, 60, of Lebanon passed away on Wednesday, March 8 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on July 25, 1962 in Lebanon, Indiana. He was the son of Vernon and Nancy (Blubaugh) Richardson.

Jeff graduated from Western Boone Jr-Sr High School in 1980. He married Barb (Pyles) Richardson on November 13, 2004 and they were married for 18 years.

Jeff enjoyed life and always had the best stories. He loved to go fishing - even though he caught more tree limbs than fish - and spending time with friends and family.

Jeff loved baking cookies, flying kites and sewing embroidered blankets for those close to him. He loved playing music at church and learned many instruments by ear. He also loved watching TV shows and movies and was an avid comic book reader. He was the one to beat in any game of trivia.

To know Jeff was to know a friend. He was the first to reach out with a helping hand, a plate of cookies, a story and a laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance.

Jeff is survived by his wife Barb of 18 years, and two children, Jennifer (Rob) Abbott of Charlottesville, Va., and Jeremy (Des) Acton of Oroville, Calif. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Krystian (Keagan) Abbott of Virginia Beach, Va.; Kaleb Abbott of Charlottesville, Va.; and Addison Acton of Oroville, Calif. Jeff is also survived by one great granddaughter, Kadence Abbott of Virginia Beach, Va.

Jeff is also survived by his mother, Nancy Richardson of Jamestown; three brothers, Doug (Beth) Richardson, Mark (Joyce) Richardson and Paul (Miranda) Richardson all of Lebanon; and 17 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, one nephew and one grandson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2:00p.m - 6:00p.m. at Strawmyer & Drury, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon.
