Jim was born Dec. 29, 1942, in Lebanon, a son of the late Jewell and Helen (Caldwell) Cox.

Jim attended Elizaville Grade School, went on to the Lebanon Jr. High School, and graduated from the Lebanon Senior High School with the class of 1961. He was then honored to earn a degree in FFA at Purdue University for agriculture from the Boone County Co-op.

Jim always loved working around animals and outdoors. He was an eleven year Clinton County 4-H member and past Jr. Leader president. He loved the many challenges of 4-H and especially working with other 4-H members.

Jim had a great interest in his yard and different flowers. Gardening a large garden that he and his wife shared with a very special couple and gathering the produce for canning and freezing, were a delight as long as his health permitted.

Jim's hobbies included working puzzles, reading Western books, and doing wood crafts. He loved attending auctions and garage sales, as well as collecting John Deere small equipment.

Jim was a lifetime member of the IOOF Germaine Lodge #129 in Indianapolis, the Rebeckah Jurisdictional Lodge in Indianapolis, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Lebanon.

Jim retired from Lebanon Kawneer as a machinist, after they closed. He then went to CTP in Indianapolis and retired after 15 years. Jim last retired from the Lebanon Wal-mart paint and hardware section due to health problems.
