Herschel Shepherd, 83, formerly of Jamestown, went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022.

He was born to the late Isaac and Cordy (Lay) Shepherd, on May 28, 1939, in Russell County, KY. He graduated from high school in Somerset, KY.  Herschel married Glenda McKinney on November 23, 1960, and she preceded him in death on Sep. 18, 2021.

Herschel worked as a printer/ Offset Pressman for Indiana Printing for over 40 years. He also stayed busy as a real estate broker and preparing taxes. He loved mowing his yard, especially on his new tractor. Herschel's family was especially important to him and he loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his daughter Barbara (Robert) Clark of Indianapolis; brother Frank Shepherd of Shelbyville; grandsons Samual Clark of Indianapolis, Nathan (Leslie) Clark-Border of Henderson, CO and Adam (Jennifer) Clark of Shelbyville. As well as great grandchildren Jack and Lucia Clark-Border of Henderson, CO and Carter and Harrison Clark of Shelbyville and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Herschel was preceded in death by his brothers Lester (Grace) Shepherd and Donald (Flossie) Shepherd and sister-in-law Janice Shepherd.

Family and friends will gather, Saturday, Oct. 22, for visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. with Rev. Mike Hunsinger officiating in the Jamestown Church of God of Prophecy, 8 West Elm Street, Jamestown.  Herschel will be laid to rest at Jamestown IOOF Cemetery.
