Obituary

Mrs. Helen Smith, 90, of Lebanon, died Saturday, August 5 at Homewood Health Campus surrounded by her family. Helen was born in Lebanon the daughter of Charles and Sara Lillian (Warren) Dillon. Helen was a lifelong resident of Lebanon and a 1952 graduate of Lebanon High School. She married William "Earl" Smith on February 21, 1952 a loving union that lasted over sixty years.

Helen enjoyed playing cards and putting together jigsaw puzzles, but most of all she loved caring for her family.

Survivors include children: Patricia Ann (Scott) Adams of Lebanon, Diana (Steve) Cooper of Lebanon and Mary  (Tony) Linton of Lebanon; grandchildren: Chris Birge, Jeremy Birge, Travis (Jessica)  Birge, Adam (Amanda Wright) Linton, and  Andrea  (Ben) Dalton; great-grandchildren: Noah Birge, Kaiden Birge, Caleb Dalton and Arch Dalton; brother, Charles Dillon of Anderson; sisters, Carol (Bob) Duncan of Lebanon and Nancy (Myron) Dickerson of Greenwood; and her longtime friend, Beverly Myers Schenck.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Joanne Dillon and Ruth Kincaid Norris; and brother, William Dillon.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, August 11 for visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.  Pastor David Wright will officiate her funeral service. Helen will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon.
