Mr. Glenn Grizzle, 94, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at IU West in Avon. He was born October 15, 1929, in Boone County, a son of the late Charles Arthur "Dutch" and Mary (Decker) Grizzle.
Glenn graduated from Zionsville High School with the class of 1947, where he was their class, President.
He was a 60 plus year Past Master of the Zionsville and Lebanon Lodges. He was so proud to be a Freemason. After his retirement for Swiggett Lumber Co., he enjoyed working in his wood shop, piddling as he called it. Every year for Christmas, he made everyone something special with his own hands. After moving to Lebanon, he worked at Ulen Country Club and loved to play golf.
Anyone that knew Glenn, knew of his contagious smile, and his kind and generous heart that he had for others.
Glenn never knew a stranger, and always had a story or joke to tell.
Survivors include his daughters, Becky (Gary) Smith of Zionsville and Marcia (Robert) Rowe of Lebanon; sister, Bonnie (Jim) McAdam; sister and brother in-law, Ruth Ann Grizzle and Lowell Reed; grandchildren: Brian and Cheryl Scott, Jason and Stacy Rowe and Jeremy and Leslie Rowe; great grandchildren, Forrest and Misano Scott, Tony and Corrina Scott, Bella Rowe and Finnley Rowe; great-great grandchild, Kei Scott; step children, Diana Lilly, Donna Riley, Darold Frank and Dale Frank.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis E. (Frank) Grizzle and first wife, Betty L. Reed; son, Curtis A. Grizzle; brothers, Chauncey, Stanley and Leonard Grizzle, and step daughter, Dawn Burgess.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, May 30th for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Glenn will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
