Gary Dunavent, 71, of Lebanon, passed away on Fri., Jan. 25, 2019, at SHC of Parkwood in Lebanon.

Gary was born in Frankfort, KY, on Nov. 10, 1947, to Clarence and Marie (Ayres) Dunavent.  Gary was raised in Owenton, KY and graduated from Owen County High School. He attended Eastern Kentucky for a short time.

Gary had owned Bishop Feed store with his cousin Jerry Jones.  In 1979, Gary moved to Indiana to start the ADP office in Indianapolis.  When he retired, he had worked for Ameritech and IBM.  Gary married Lisa Isenhower on Sep. 21 ^st , 1985.

Gary enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling and playing cards.  Gary was a good joke and story teller and loved to be the life of the party.  He held memberships at the Eagles and Moose Lodge in Lebanon, IN.

Gary enjoyed living in Indiana and made many friends, but his heart was always in Kentucky.  He cherished his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gary is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Brad (Michelle); daughter, Jean-Marie; grandchildren, Luke, Lucy, Julian and Khloe Dunavent.; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rick; and daughter, Shelley Marie.

Gary will be traveling back home to Kentucky.  Family and friends will gather for visitation, Sat., Feb. 2, 2019, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the McDonald & New Funeral Home, Main Street location, Owenton, KY. Gary will be laid to rest at Owenton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the John Isenhower Scholarship Fund or the 1 ^st Christian Church of Owenton, KY.
