Everett E. "Peanut" Shirley, 91, passed away Mon., Aug. 31, 2020.

He was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Lebanon, IN, as the son of John and Gertrude Shirley.

Everett graduated from Lebanon High School in 1946 and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

"Ev", as his coworkers referred to him, worked his entire career at P.R. Mallory, later known as CMW, Inc., in Indianapolis, IN. During that time, he and his team achieved three patents as he rose to the position of Chief Engineer.

"Peanut" is survived by his son, Tony Shirley (Geralyn Strecker); daughters, Beth (Mike) Fiandt and Connie (Todd) King; sister, Belle Minor; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy H. (Dottie) Shirley; brother, Albert Shirley; and sisters, Wilma Benton, Mary Lou Snider and Marjorie Shirley.

At Everett's request, there will be no service and burial will be private. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
