Edward Lee Shelley, 80, of Thorntown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at IU Methodist in Indianapolis. Edward was born Jun. 12, 1942, in Thorntown, son of Jim and Marjorie (Strong) Shelley.

Edward was known as Hutch. He graduated in 1960 from Thorntown High School, then entered the Air Force. Upon returning home in 1962, he married Eva Jane Everett. They celebrated their 60 ^th anniversary on Jan. 19, 2022.

Edward worked at Pitman Moore in Pathology and retired from Rock Island Refinery. He and his wife refurbished homes for rentals and set up at antique flea markets. He always had an old classic car.

Survivors include his loving wife, Eva Shelley of Thorntown; children, Bryan Shelley of Lebanon and Michelle (Tim) Bowman of Lebanon; sister, Connie Banta of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Craig Bowman (Kylei Harness) of Zionsville, Hunter (Alex) Bowman of Lebanon, Ashlee (Mathan) Gadbury of Thorntown, Josh (Jamye) Shelley of Brownsburg, and Sharina Shelley of Lebanon; and great grandchildren, Maddex, Brannon, Nora, Kynlee, Kapri, Knox, Cooper, Kalina, and Kiera.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Shelley.

Family and friends will gather Friday, Oct. 21, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Ed will be laid to rest at Dover Cemetery.
