Lebanon
Eddie Louis Grizzle, 75, of Lebanon, passed away July 7, 2020, at Witham Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Ed was born Aug. 20, 1944, in Lebanon, a son of the late Louis and Mary Jane (Christy) Grizzle.
Ed graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis and then went on to become a welder, earning both MIG and TIG certification. He was most proud of welding the stainless-steel beer filters for Anheuser-Busch and the sound barriers on F-16s. He worked at Commercial Filters for 33 years, and retired from Alkaline in Tipton after three years. Ed was a proud member of the Eagles Lodge and the Boone #9 Masonic Lodge for 33 years.
Ed was a jokester, always trying to get a laugh. He was a collector of antique clocks, coins, and one dollar bills. He loved restoring antiques, especially old milk cans and wagons. Recently, Ed enjoyed sitting outside and watching the birds and squirrels from his patio.
Ed lived for his family and is survived by his two children, Shawnna (Greg) Sickels of Lebanon and Chad (Sherri) Grizzle of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jon Sickels, Maili (Zachary) Davis, and Haley and Gabe Grizzle; the mother of his children, JoAnn Tohill of Lebanon; sister, Diane Ostler of Florida; niece and nephew, Debi (Eric) Swank of Frankfort and Terry Knox of Frankfort; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, JoNell (LaBolle) Grizzle and special aunt, Martha Hunt.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Witham, especially Dr. Montgomery and the wound center team, for their compassion and support.
Family and friends will gather Sat., July 11, 2020 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the Masonic service at 12 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
