Obituary

Doris "Sandy" Knapp-Neese, 90, of Lebanon, passed away May 3, 2018, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Sandy was born February 12, 1928, in Ruthven, IA, a daughter of the late Hamlin James and Nora Carolina (Westergard) Sandvig. She married Glen Knapp in 1948 and he passed away in October 1972. She then married Ray Neese in July 1985 and he passed away in 2004.

Sandy graduated from Graettinger High School and then went on to attend business school in Des Moines, IA. She worked at Paul Harris, Clifford Builders, Oak Hill Cemetery in the main office, and the Ray Neese popcorn factory. Sandy loved to play bridge and she loved to watch basketball games. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. Sandy always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.

Sandy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also a member of LCW, bible study, tourist club, and several bridge clubs through the years.

Survivors include her children Alan (Kristi) Knapp of Muncie, Susan Bertsch of Lebanon, and Judy (Keith) Wilson of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; three nephews and two nieces. In addition to her husbands, Sandy was preceded in death by her brother Dale Sandvig.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, May 10, 2018 for visitation from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
