Lebanon
Mrs. Diana Mae Hendricks, 81, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully Friday, December 23, 2022, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.
Diana was born September 18, 1941, in Lebanon. She was a daughter of the late Ernest Lewis and Elizabeth Mae "Libby" (Vanausdall) Breedlove. She married John Hendricks on December 1, 1963. He preceded her in death January 18, 2019.
Diana graduated from Lebanon High School in 1960. She, along with her late husband, owned and operated J & D Storage in Lebanon for over 25 years. Diana also worked at Minute Print It for the Maines family for nearly 20 years. Prior to having children, Diana worked as an administrative assistant at the Indiana State House.
Diana had many interests throughout her life which included bowling in a league and playing cards in a Euchre Club with her sisters and friends. She was an avid shopper and loved any opportunity to eat out. She spent countless Monday nights playing Bingo at the Eagles and just couldn't pass up an opportunity to go to a casino or scratch a lottery ticket. She spent many hours reading Daniel Steele novels, working puzzles, and watching game shows. Diana enjoyed attending Cincinnati Reds and Indianapolis Indians baseball games in person. If she wasn't attending sports in person, she was watching the Colts, Pacers, IU, Purdue, or the Bowling Channel on tv. Her proudest moments were spent watching her grandkids grow and participate in activities. She will always be known for her generous spirit, warmth, charm, humor, and grace. Diana loved her family dearly and will never be forgotten.
Survivors include her daughters, Lori (Bill) Allen of Lebanon and Debbie (John) Boggess of Lebanon; sisters, Esther (Carter) Copeland of Lebanon, Kathy (Steve) Neese of Thorntown, Tish Luper of Lebanon, and Melinda (Dick) Bures of Indianapolis; bother-in-law, Charles (Sue) Hendricks; grandchildren, Tyler (Chrissy) Boggess, Michael Boggess, Annika Allen, and Jacob Allen; great grandson, Maxwell Boggess; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Diana was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray Breedlove, Leon Breedlove, Bob Breedlove; and sister, Suzanne Scudder.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, January 7 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
