Diana L. Dawes, 65, of Advance, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born August 11, 1958, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Mary Margaret (Miller) Hutchings.
Diana loved the beach. She visited aunts that were snow birds in the winter who had property in Florida. She enjoyed family get togethers and the holidays. She would make cookies and fudge for everyone at Christmas. She loved cooking and trying new recipes. She worked at Witham hospital for over 20 years in many different positions. She loved doing things with her grandkids.
Survivors include her children, Rachel Dawes and Anthony Dawes; grandchildren, Jacob Dawes, Mary Abney, and Abel Wilson; brothers, Robert (Cinda) Hutchings, James (Michele) Hutchings, and Vic (Robin) Hutchings; brother-in-law, Tony Wooters; aunt, Martha Smith (Gilbert); nieces, Stacy (John) Stewart and Sarah (Tim) Emmonis; nephews, Ed (Amy) Zackary, Mike, Robbie and Larry Joe; many great nieces and nephews; and the father of her children, Roy Dawes.
In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her sisters, Sharon Wooters and Karen Hutchings Collins; uncle, Harold Smith; aunt and uncle, Sylvia and Harold Watson; and son-in-law, Zek.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, May 18, for a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon. A Rosary Service will be held 15 minutes prior to the visitation, and a lunch will be provided after the Mass at the Church.
