David Edward Henry, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born in Indianapolis, on April 8, 1946, a son of the late Ira G. and Mildred M. (Knight) Henry. David is survived by his wife, Betty L. (Rusteberg) Henry of Lebanon. They were married in Zionsville in 1963 and were together for nearly 58 years.

David retired from Hachette Book Group in 2007. He took great pride in his family and he loved to go camping, and also enjoyed fishing and classic cars. He was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children, David E. Henry, Jr. (Lisa) of NY, Donna S. Bechard (Alan) of TN, James M. Henry (Sandy) of FL, Judy R. Schafer (Chad) of IN; grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah (Jon), Kaitlyn, Kymbirlie (Travon), Zachary, Danielle (James), Jessica, Justin (Ashley), Stephanie, Isreal, Erin, Casey (Cameron), Isaiah, and Isaac; and 12 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather Monday, April 26, 2021 for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m., led by Pastor Richard Reynolds, in the Walnut Street Baptist Church, 225 E. Walnut Street, Lebanon, IN 46052. David will be dropped in the hole at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walnut Street Baptist Church.
