Mr. David Hugh Bond, 80, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. He was born July 1, 1943, in Shelbyville, a son of the late Robin L. and Dorothy (Threlkeld) Bond.
Dave graduated from Triton Central High School with the class of 1961. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army National Guard. Dave worked as a sales manager for Shumate Business Forms and Cardinal Container. Dave loved cowboys growing up and continued watching Old Westerns as he got older. He was an avid golfer. Dave served on the Board of Directors for the Ulen Country Club. He was a faithful member of the Grace Baptist Church for many years, where he served as a deacon and chairman.
Survivors include his wife, Janie (Cavin) Strawmyer-Bond of Lebanon; children, Trisha (Steve) Whicker of Crawfordsville and Rick (Alison) Bond of Fishers; grandchildren, Hannah (Daymon) Osborn, Haley (Mitchell) McIntyre, Caleb (Kaylee) Whicker, Chloe Bond, and Luke Bond; siblings, Victor Bond, Timothy (Sharon) Bond, and Emily Ann (Ned) Harness; step-daughter, Jenni (Glenn) Cunningham; and step-grandsons, Jack, Marcus, and Ben Fortner.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his first wife, Patty (Cord) Bond and brother, Joe Bond.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, September 30, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Dave will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
