Mrs. Brenda K. Butler, 73, of Thorntown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Brenda was born Jul. 10, 1948, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Carlos and Myrtle (Frederick) Thompson. She married Richard Butler on May 21, 1966. He survives.

Brenda graduated from Granville Wells with the class of 1966. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Brenda also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Richard Butler of Thorntown; children, Rich Butler of Thorntown, Natalie Smith of Colfax, and Neil (Karissa) Butler of Thorntown; siblings, Glenda Smith, Ivan Thompson, Sandy Trent, Carl Thompson, Troy Thompson, Alan Thompson, and Jeannie Bower; grandchildren, Jeremy and Quinton Whatley, and Ryan, Jaice, and Brendan Butler; and great grandchildren, Leah and Vivian Whatley.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Jan. 26, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Brenda will be laid to rest at Pisgah Cemetery in Beckville.
